Low-mileage 5-y-o who landed a 5f novice at this track prior to a disappointing handicap debut at York 22 days ago. Hard to make a case for.
Course winner who found a good run of form coming to a halt when only sixth over C&D 9 days ago, missing the break. Type to bounce back quickly, but slow starts are becoming a concern.
Fairly useful form at best last year but neither effort this term inspires much confidence. Plenty to prove.
AW novice winner who improved again to strike on Beverley handicap debut (5f) in May. Solid efforts in defeat since and must enter calculations.
Improving sprinter who was comfortably on top at the finish when opening his account in a handicap at Hamilton last time. Likely to go well again if the gallop is a sound one.
Well-bred gelding who benefited from a drop back in trip when third in a Yarmouth maiden last time. That form is working out and he's likely capable of better still, so looks a big player.
Lightly-raced sort who clicked all of a sudden when making all in 6f handicap at Ripon May and was back on his game when third at Haydock last time. Mark looks about right, though.
Veteran who scored at Thirsk in May and has been holding form well lately, albeit in lesser handicaps. This is likely to prove a bit too tough for him.

Ubahha (5/2), Captain Vallo (10/3), Sound Reason (9/2), Mutanaaseq (5/1), Athollblair Boy (6/1), Thornaby Pearl (13/2), Copper Queen (18/1), Lucky Beggar (20/1), Little Muddy (40/1)
UBAHHA isn't really bred to be speedy but seemed to relish a first go at sprinting when third in a maiden at Yarmouth 51 days ago. He was surrounded by next-time-out winners that day, so he's fancied to add to that trend despite the presence of the progressive Captain Vallo, who should pose a serious threat. Sound Reason is another one to consider.
