Go Long^p⁶¹

Age: 11| Weight: 11-12| J: Adam Wedge| T: Evan Williams| OR: 122| D

7/2

Not at his best in recent starts, but he was a winner off this mark on his latest appearance in 0-120 company at Fontwell in November and is, therefore, dangerous to discount.

King Alfonso^p1²⁵

Age: 12| Weight: 11-7| J: Ben Jones| T: Miss R Curtis| OR: 117| C| D

7/1

Now 7 lb lower than when scoring at Cartmel last summer, but recent debut for this yard at Worcester (23f, good to soft) was pretty tame and needs to bounce back down in trip with cheekpieces added.

Form: 4154-7P

Boagrius^t⁴⁹

Age: 9| Weight: 11-5| J: C Gethings| T: T R George| OR: 115

3/1

Dual chase scorer who essentially proved to be disappointing during a light 2020/21 campaign. Still, he wasn't disgraced at Aintree last time and has dipped to a dangerous-looking mark.

Form: 2/578-45

Rizzardo³⁸

Age: 9| Weight: 11-3| J: Sam Twiston-Davies| T: N & W Twiston-Davies| OR: 113

10/1

Dual chase winner in 2020, the latest at Southwell (20.4f) in November. Below par both starts since returning from a break in March, though, and others make more appeal.

Form: P/51P3-6

Sir Tivo^t¹⁹

Age: 7| Weight: 11-0| J: S Bowen| T: G Hanmer| OR: 110| BF| D

11/8

Upwardly mobile 7-y-o who hit the target at Stratford and Southwell within the space of 6 days last month. Lost no caste in defeat when going close at the former course recently and he's a big player.

Form: 55-3112

Forecasts

Sir Tivo (11/8), Boagrius (3/1), Go Long (7/2), King Alfonso (7/1), Away At Dawn (7/1), Rizzardo (10/1)

A strong pace is virtually assured in this trappy-looking contest, despite the small field. BOAGRIUS is the suggestion, having slipped to an attractive mark and there were positives to glean from his latest effort at Aintree in what was a stronger race than this. The progressive Sir Tivo is a much-respected main danger, while Go Long has edged back to his last winning mark and also has claims.
