Good second in a Meydan handicap when last seen in November, which was his final start for Doug Watson. Now back with the yard with which he started his career and the market should be informative.

Winner of a 4-runner Haydock handicap last summer and added to his tally on the AW in March. Has found things tougher since, though, and looks vulnerable back from a break.

Made a winning start in good style on AW back in December. Struggled in listed company on return at Sandown, but this is a more realistic assignment and he has to enter calculations.

Much improved this season, twice hitting the crossbar before landing the odds in a soft-ground maiden at Pontefract (1¼m). Big chance back in handicap company, providing he copes with conditions.

Forecasts

Wahraan (4/5), Gloucestershire (5/2), Bill Peyto (4/1), Big Kitten (5/1), Songkran (11/1)

Verdict

Though WAHRAAN was made to work a bit harder than might have been expected at Pontefract, there is almost certainly better to come from this colt and he gets the nod ahead of fellow 3-y-os Gloucestershire and Bill Peyto, both of whom also remain with potential. Big Kitten is not one to write off now back with Mark Johnston.

  3. BILL PEYTO (IRE)
