Well backed and came out on top in first-time tongue strap on first run since leaving Lynn Siddall in 12-runner handicap at this course (7.1f) 24 days ago. 3 lb rise fair so solid follow-up claims.

Not disgraced when fourth at Kempton in January, but below form all 3 starts since, including after a 4-month break back on turf last time.

Has thrived on racing since his return, digging deep to complete the 4-timer after just 4 days off at Hamilton (8.3f) last week. Can give another good account under a 6 lb penalty.

Showed the benefit of a good position when finally opening account in 7-runner handicap (12/1) at Wolverhampton (8.6f) in February. Will likely find life tougher back on turf from 3 lb higher.

Verdict

STAR OF VALOUR was no doubt seen to good effect from his high draw when winning on his yard debut here 24 days ago, but he had a bit up his sleeve so a 3-lb rise looks tolerable. Kayfest Warrior has thrived on racing since his return and can give another good account under a 6-lb penalty, with course-specialist Sir Plato also worth a look.

  1. STAR OF VALOUR (IRE)
  2. KAYFAST WARRIOR (IRE)
  3. SIR PLATO (IRE)
