Age: 6| Weight: 11-10| J: Donagh Meyler| T: K Purcell| OR: 128| BF| D

4/1

Improved form when landing handicaps at Tipperary/Roscommon in May/June. Possibly stretched by 3m at former venue since and no surprise to see him in the mix back down in trip.

Form: 188-114

Happy Jacky³²

Age: 7| Weight: 11-9| J: Darragh O'Keeffe| T: R Hackett| OR: 127| D

11/2

Bit below form sixth of 10 in novice chase at Kilbeggan (19.9f, good, 4/1) 32 days ago. Switches from chase to hurdles but his present mark does demand more now.

Form: 85140-6

Cusp Of Carabelli¹²⁶

Age: 8| Weight: 11-3| J: Sean Flanagan| T: D M O'Brien| OR: 121| D

12/1

Back to winning ways over fences at Thurles (2m) in February and shaped as if still in form when sixth at Gowran (18f) in March, caught further back than ideal. Not ruled out from lower hurdles mark.

Form: 323016-

Elite Charboniere^t³⁰

Age: 7| Weight: 11-0| J: Paul Townend| T: W P Mullins| OR: 118

11/1

One win from 2 runs last season. Seventh of 8 in novice hurdle at Wexford (16f, good to soft, 11/1) 30 days ago. Up in trip. Makes handicap hurdle debut and not one to write off for leading stable.

Form: 07/410-7

Swordsman^b1⁵⁶

Age: 7| Weight: 10-12| J: Jordan Gainford⁽⁵⁾| T: Mrs D Foster| OR: 116| D

9/1

Unreliable type. Fifth of 7 in minor event hurdle (12/1) at Wexford (24f, heavy) 56 days ago, losing place quickly 4 out and seemingly downed tools. Blinkers now the headgear of choice.

Form: U6/04P-5

Ghost Serge^t³⁴

Age: 6| Weight: 10-9| J: Conor Clarke⁽⁷⁾| T: R Hackett| OR: 113

40/1

Unreliable sort who, not for the first time refused to race at Kilbeggan (2m) in May. Did at least consent to race when eighth in 12-runner Limerick handicap (11.5f) latest but easy to pass over here.

Form: 70RR/U-R

Merry Poppins³⁸

Age: 4| Weight: 10-5| J: Rachael Blackmore| T: J Motherway| OR: 114

11/10

7/1, good 2½ lengths third of 16 to Fest Deiz in handicap hurdle at Roscommon (19.9f, good) 38 days ago, sticking to task. Meets that rival on 7 lb better terms here and very much on the shortlist.

Form: 16652-3

Forecasts

Merry Poppins (11/10), Fest Deiz (4/1), Happy Jacky (11/2), Swordsman (9/1), Elite Charboniere (11/1), Cusp Of Carabelli (12/1), Ghost Serge (40/1)

MERRY POPPINS remains a low-mileage sort and she ran right up to her best when 2½ lengths third of 16 to Fest Deiz in handicap hurdle at Roscommon (19.9f, good) 38 days ago, sticking to her task. She meets that rival on 7 lb better terms here and gets the nod to come out on top. The latter-named was stretched by 3m latest and is a player once more, along with handicap-debutant Elite Charboniere.
