Just denied 2 of last 3 starts, including at Southwell (25.8f, good, 8/1) 35 days ago. Profile is a patchy one but first-time headgear may help.

Neville's Cross²⁷

Age: 6| Weight: 10-13| J: J J Burke| T: T Lacey| OR: 127| D

5/1

Did well over hurdles last season, winning twice. Fell both starts in chases (still capable of better), closing and looking a big threat 2 out over C&D last month. Worth another chance.

Off the mark for current yard at Stratford last summer and hit the frame on 3 of 5 starts since, including when third of 7 at Ludlow (23.8f) in April (on back of 6 months off). Cheekpieces back on.

5/6

Dual hurdles winner who has improved to win last 2 starts over fences at Ffos Las. Remains unexposed in this sphere so likely to make another bold bid.

Forecasts

Montanna (5/6), Bbold (4/1), Neville's Cross (5/1), Fidux (15/2), Rocco (11/1), Follow The Bear (12/1)

NEVILLE'S CROSS has hit the deck on both his starts over fences so far, but he looked a big threat before coming to grief 2 out in a C&D novice last time and is potentially on a good mark back in a handicap. Montanna has quickly developed into a fairly-useful staying chaser and is the obvious threat as he bids for a hat-trick.
