Attracted support before finding only one too good in a bumper at Ffos Las in May. Left Ben Pauling for £80,000 subsequently, so new connections will be hoping he can go one better.

Excelebration gelding. Dam (h102), 17f hurdle winner, also 1m winner on Flat, half-sister to useful hurdler/chaser (stayed 2½m) Manyriverstocross. Runner-up sole start in points (Oct 2020).

Bred to stay well but belied big odds to finish third over C&D on debut. Could improve on that if this provides enough of a test (worth riding positively).

Sans Frontieres gelding who offered a bit of encouragement having been poorly positioned at Ffos Las 39 days ago. He's likely to come good in time, though.

Not particularly appealing judged on pedigree, but he's worth a look in the betting.

Flat-bred gelding who showed up well when third of 9 in C&D bumper last month. Might come on for that fitness wise, so he's a definite player.

Well backed and left Irish form behind when fourth in a bumper at Huntingdon on debut for current stable. This isn't quite as competitive, so could make an even bigger impact.

Trans Island mare. Dam (c75/h85), 2¾m hurdle winner (stayed 25f), half-sister to useful hurdler (2m/17f winner) Lindenhurst. More of a long-term prospect.

Forecasts

Lurgoe (2/1), Luke San (7/2), The Wild Westerner (4/1), Huntsman's Call (11/2), Landacre Bridge (6/1), Another Lord (11/1), Haltwhistle (50/1), Isla Diamonds (150/1)

Verdict

HUNTSMAN'S CALL couldn't sustain her effort having made a promising move on bumper debut, so there should be more to come. Up against staying types, she could use her speed (bred for Flat) to gain a tactical edge and come out on top in a tightly-knit affair. Landacre Bridge is the main threat, though Lurgoe warrants a mention on his second start for Ian Williams.

  1. HUNTSMAN'S CALL (IRE)
  2. LANDACRE BRIDGE
  3. LURGOE (GER)
