Has shown ability in 3 qualifying runs this spring but he didn't look that straightforward at Windsor last time, hanging badly left.

All four outings for Karl Burke as a juvenile came over 6f, finishing fourth on a couple of occasions. Does have some stamina in pedigree and needs a betting check on first start for Mark Johnston.

Winner at Wolverhampton in January and creditable placed efforts since, the latest back on turf at Beverley. Ought to be competitive again.

Well-related colt who showed ability in 3 starts over 7f/1m earlier in the year and appeals as a likely improver now handicapping over a longer trip. Very interesting.

No significant impact in handicaps this spring, including here. Headgear left off now. Has been cut some slack by the assessor but others arrive with more pressing claims.

Modest form for Karl Burke earlier in year. Well held setting out for new yard in 7f Lingfield handicap (AW) 17 days ago. Up in trip for turf debut with hood added to blinkers.

Yard among the winners but she's failed to make an impact in 2 handicaps this spring. Not hard to look elsewhere.

Forecasts

Kelmscott (3/1), Oriental Art (10/3), Uncle Dick (4/1), Addosh (15/2), Jawhary (8/1), Kornflake (17/2), Eton Blue (12/1), Way Of Life (22/1), Ambarella (40/1), Tarneemat (150/1)

Verdict

ORIENTAL ART is certainly bred to be better than an opening mark of 66 (brother to smart Madame Chiang among others) and there was definite promise in his 3 qualifying runs. He gets the nod, with confidence increased should the market vibes be strong. Jawhary is another potential improver in handicaps, while Uncle Dick and Addosh have both shown they can be very competitive form their mark.

  1. ORIENTAL ART
  2. JAWHARY
  3. UNCLE DICK
