At the top of his game in recent months, making it 3 wins from his last 4 starts in decisive fashion at Fakenham recently. However, another clear personal best will be needed under a penalty here.

Placed on several occasions over hurdles for Thomas Mullins, but yet to land a meaningful blow following half-a-dozen appearances for this yard. Visor applied.

Winner for Henry De Bromhead in 2019 and cashed in on a much-reduced mark when landing a touch in first-time blinkers at Plumpton last time. Back up 10 lb, but leading claims nonetheless.

Modest maiden hurdler/chaser for Sophie Leech. Creditable fifth of 16 on debut for new yard at Chepstow in March, but failed to build on that at Worcester since.

Infrequent winner and not getting any younger, but finished clear of the rest when chasing home a progressive type at Worcester on debut for new yard last month. Needs considering off the same mark.

Sole win from 17 starts in this sphere was gained back in March 2018. On the upside, the handicapper has acted accordingly and his latest effort at Southwell was pretty encouraging.

Bumper winner in Ireland back in 2017. Still a maiden over hurdles following 20 attempts and while his latest effort at Fontwell was creditable, he'll probably find one or two too good once more.

Well held in various events over hurdles, but she certainly wouldn't be the first to benefit from the switch to the Dan Skelton yard. One to monitor closely in the betting.

Produced by far his best effort yet over hurdles when a close third in an 8-runner C&D handicap from 6 lb out of the weights on Saturday. Able to race off correct mark this time and major claims.

Three-time Flat winner and latest effort in this sphere when fourth of 12 at Chepstow represented something of a step forward. Still, good deal more needed here if he's to open his hurdles account.

Forecasts

Hit The Bottle (7/4), Comeonthebull (10/3), Clearly Capable (11/2), Top Beak (15/2), Ayr Of Elegance (8/1), Shanandoa (8/1), Blunder Buss (18/1), Stephanie Sunshine (22/1), Lambs Lane (22/1), Sharp Reply (25/1), Judex Lefou (33/1), No Worries (40/1), Earthly (40/1), No No Cardinal (200/1)

Verdict

Though yet to pull up any trees in this sphere, HIT THE BOTTLE did show ability on her sole bumper start and, like many before her, this 6-y-o may well benefit from the Midas touch of Dan Skelton, for whom she makes her debut off a potentially handy mark. Comeonthebull is feared on the back of his recent C&D near miss, while Clearly Capable is third choice ahead of Ayr of Elegance.
