Useful chaser at his best and he ran well when fifth in a class 3 handicap at Ascot (23.8f) in November. Mixed efforts followed but this much more suitable than his Kim Muir assignment in March.

Plenty of placed efforts prior to getting off the mark on return at Southwell (3m) 18 days ago, making all. Hit with a 5 lb rise for that but not ruled out in follow-up bid.

Came good last spring, belatedly opening chase account at Fakenham (3m) last March. Underwhelming in trio of starts last season but capable if putting it all together back from short another break.

Dual chase winner who posted a career best when second in Devon National (30.7f) at Exeter in February. Not at best at Perth subsequently but bounce back definitely not ruled out.

Course winner who showed benefit of his return/yard debut effort when keeping on for second in the Norfolk National (29f) at Fakenham 18 days ago. Worth a second look with Brian Hughes in the plate.

10-y-o who arrives on a long losing run but fallen plenty in weights and left impression he should have finished closer when 3 lengths third of 10 at Plumpton (25.7f) 2 weeks ago. Interesting.

Forecasts

Big Nasty (5/2), Flying Verse (11/4), Tea Time On Mars (7/2), Bbold (4/1), Ballyegan Hero (11/2), Onefortheroadtom (11/2), Reve (10/1), Townshend (20/1)

Verdict

A leap of faith is required in supporting BALLYEGAN HERO but he's potentially well handicapped and ran easily his best race for his present yard when third at Plumpton (25.7f) earlier this month, finishing with running left. He's worth chancing in a wide-open race, with Tea Time On Mars and Flying Verse heading up the dangers, ahead of Bbold.

  1. BALLYEGAN HERO (IRE)
  2. TEA TIME ON MARS
  3. FLYING VERSE
