Well-bred and shaped with considerable promise when fourth of 10 at Kempton (11f) on sole 2-y-o start. Clearly held in high regard (Ribblesdale entry) and sure to improve, but this is a big ask.

Placed both AW starts in March and made it third time lucky on turf debut in 16-runner Nottingham maiden (8.3f, good to soft) a fortnight ago. This is tougher, but she remains open to improvement.

Improved when opening her account on turf debut in C&D handicap (good) at the beginning of the month. There should be more races to be won with this filly, but this represents a big step up in class.

Winner of 2 of her 3 starts at 2 yrs and better than she was able to show when fourth on return at Newmarket (1¼m, good to firm), having refused to settle. Claims if more tractable this time.

Wolverhampton maiden winner at 2 yrs and, equipped with first-time blinkers, she took a step back in the right direction when landing an Ascot handicap (1¼m, soft) recently. This is much tougher.

Added to 2-y-o AW success when seeing off 5 rivals upped to 1¼m on return at Sandown. Not in the same form in Lingfield Oaks Trial (11.6f, soft) next time, but she's worth another chance.

Winner of 7f Yarmouth maiden at 2 yrs and shaped well when third on return in 1m Ascot novice. Improvement on the cards now upped in trip and she's clearly well-regarded (holds Group 1 entries).

Plenty of encouragement sole 2-y-o start and duly improved when landing a Chepstow novice (1¼m, good to soft) in good style on return in April. In deeper waters now, but she's clearly a good prospect.

Forecasts

Ready To Venture (13/8), Talbeyah (16/5), Lady Hayes (11/2), Nash Nasha (11/2), Fairy Cakes (16/1), Mystery Show (18/1), Aura Blue (20/1), Ad Infinitum (25/1)

Verdict

Though she doesn't hold any fancy entries at this stage, TALBEYAH looked good when clearing away from a subsequent winner at Chepstow and can be expected to take this step up in class in her stride. Ready To Venture's reappearance third at Ascot was promising and she is greatly respected now faced with a stiffer test. Lady Hayes will also be a threat if settling better than she did at Newmarket.

  2. READY TO VENTURE
  3. LADY HAYES (IRE)
