Finished second behind Zanahiyr in a juvenile maiden on hurdles bow at Ballinrobe in October. Not in same form next 2 starts but given a break since and he remains with potential in this sphere.

Lightly-raced maiden over hurdles. 5/1 and tongue strap on for 1st time, creditable second of 19 in novice hurdle at Down Royal (16.4f, soft) 17 days ago. Likely to be firmly in the mix again.

Timeform
Thrice-raced maiden under NH rules. 80/1, tenth of 15 in juvenile hurdle at Cork (16f, good to soft) 12 days ago, unsuited by drop in trip. Handicaps likely to be more his bag in due course.

Timeform
Once-raced maiden. 18/1, fifth of 9 in bumper at Punchestown (17.7f, heavy) on NH debut 66 days ago. Makes hurdles debut.

€10,000 3-y-o, Fairly Ransom gelding. Half-brother to 3 winners, including fairly useful hurdler/useful chaser Balbriggan and fairly useful 2m-3m hurdle winner Mt Leinster Gold.

Twice-raced maiden under NH rules. 22/1, ninth of 13 in juvenile hurdle at Tramore (16f, good to soft) on hurdles bow 31 days ago.

Promising sort. Respectable sixth of 14 in juvenile hurdle at Limerick (16f, good to soft, 6/1) 35 days ago. Should have more to offer.

Timeform
Once-raced maiden. 25/1, seventeenth of 18 in juvenile hurdle at Killarney (17f, good to soft) on NH debut 11 days ago, never travelling well. Can only be watched on the back of that now.

Fair maiden on the Flat. Once-raced maiden over hurdles. 20/1, first run since leaving Hughie Morrison when fourteenth of 18 in juvenile hurdle at Killarney (17f) on NH debut 11 days ago. Passed over.

Kingston Hill gelding. Dam unraced sister to high-class hurdler/top-class chaser (stayed 25f) Menorah. Market should prove a useful guide ahead of hurdles debut.

5/2
Fairly useful performer on the Flat for Richard Fahey who built on hurdling debut effort when runner-up in a fillies maiden at Cork in March. Latest Flat effort best overlooked and not ruled out.
|
Timeform
Once-raced maiden over hurdles. 33/1, eleventh of 13 in juvenile hurdle at Tramore (16f, good to soft) on NH debut 31 days ago. Looks one for the longer term on that evidence.
|
Timeform
Lightly-raced maiden. Tenth of 13 in juvenile hurdle (13/2) at Tramore (16f, good to soft) 31 days ago, proving too free. Others make greater appeal on balance.
|
Timeform
Once-raced maiden. Fifteenth of 22 in bumper (25/1) at Punchestown (16.4f, good to soft) on NH debut 23 days ago. Makes hurdles debut. Reserve 1.

Verdict

Runner-up behind Zanahiyr on his hurdles debut in the autumn, DARK VOYAGER didn't kick on in 2 subsequent starts over hurdles towards the back end of last year. However, given a break since he retains potential and may well get back on the up now. Easca Peasca again went close at Down Royal earlier this month and is feared, along with Fraternity.

  1. DARK VOYAGER (IRE)
  2. EASCA PEASCA (IRE)
  3. FRATERNITY (IRE)
