Looked useful when making a winning start at Newmarket (7f, heavy) last October. Followed up in 1m Lingfield novice (AW) on recent return and further improvement likely now pitched into a handicap.

Shaped well in maidens at Newcastle and Sandown prior to winning one with minimum fuss over 7f on final start of 2020. Opening mark no gift, but she's in good hands and may have more to offer.

Highly tried following following debut success last term and back on the right path when runner-up on handicap bow at Wolverhampton in April. However, subsequent Newmarket effort wasn't encouraging.

Plenty of promise sole 2-y-o start and winner of all 3 starts (on AW over 6f/7f) this year. Nudged up just 3 lb for latest handicap bow success and claims if coping with conditions on turf debut.

Easily best effort at 2 yrs when second to Beau Jardine at Newmarket (7f, heavy) in October. However, failed to make an impact on return/handicap bow at Haydock and now tried in a visor.

Stepped up on debut effort when seeing off a couple of subsequent winners at Redcar (7f, soft) in September. Wasn't knocked about on return at Newcastle and open to improvement on this handicap bow.

Forecasts

Third Kingdom (6/4), Beau Jardine (2/1), Choritzo (8/1), Isla Kai (17/2), Double Dealing (9/1), North Of Amazing (16/1)

Verdict

It would be unwise to underestimate ISLA KAI, who scored under similar conditions at Redcar last season and should be all the better for her reappearance spin on the all-weather. She makes her handicap debut off what may turn out to be a lenient mark. The unbeaten and unexposed Beau Jardine is greatly respected, while the progressive Double Dealing and Third Kingdom also command respect.

  1. ISLA KAI (IRE)
  2. BEAU JARDINE (IRE)
  3. DOUBLE DEALING (IRE)
