Showed ability when fourth of 11 at Kelso in December, but he has shown precious little in 2 subsequent starts. Now tried in a tongue strap.

Pulled up all 3 starts in points and while he showed more than on Rules debut when fifth of 13 at Downpatrick (18.8f, good) recently, it's easy enough to look elsewhere.

Confirmed debut promise (unseated when set to go close) when landing a Lingfield bumper in January. Wasn't knocked about on C&D hurdles debut 3 weeks ago and there should be better to come.

Fair maiden on the Flat and placed all 3 starts in maiden hurdles, the latest at Kilbeggan (19.8f, good to soft) last July. Remains with potential and leading claims if fully tuned-up for this.

Half-brother to 3 winners didn't shape badly when fourth on debut in a Newcastle bumper in December 2019. Well held both starts since, though, and opposable now switched to hurdles.

Raised her game when winning 6-runner bumper at Musselburgh in March. Out of her depth at Aintree since and minor place money is probably the very best she can hope for now tackling hurdles.

Forecasts

Khanmurjan (5/6), City Derby (13/8), Willy Nilly (3/1), Bella Bluesky (10/1), Bronze Bull (22/1), Any Job Will Do (33/1), Petite Rhapsody (66/1), Castle Island (66/1), Hardies Hill (100/1)

Verdict

Bumper winner CITY DERBY was given a considerate introduction to this game over C&D last month and, with improvement on the cards, he looks the way to go. Providing all is well following 10 months off, Khanmurjan will be a big threat and Willy Nilly is also accorded respect on the back of an improved display at Ludlow.

  1. CITY DERBY (IRE)
  2. KHANMURJAN (USA)
  3. WILLY NILLY (IRE)
