Fair chaser who was running well (in third) fell last in hunter chase at Ascot on penultimate start. Added to patchy record with a lacklustre display since, though.

Fairly useful chaser for Gordon Elliott but nowhere near that level for Nick Alexander and just modest form in hunters for current yard. That said, he was beaten only by Bob And Co last time.

Made frame on point debut but Rules efforts this year give him very little chance.

Fair chaser for Brian Ellison who got back on track when runner-up at Musselburgh on second Rules outing for this yard. Good effort between the flags since, so he looks the one to beat.

Veteran who has won plenty of points and shaped as if retaining some ability when well-held third in hunter at Hexham last time. Others have better recent form, though.

Forecasts

Point The Way (5/4), Magna Sam (9/4), Fortunes Hiding (4/1), Royal Chant (9/2), Son Of Suzie (13/2), Killer Crow (15/2), Refusal (11/1), Lord Ballim (66/1)

Verdict

POINT THE WAY's second at Musselburgh in March is comfortably the best piece of recent Rules form on show, so he's an obvious selection to come out on top under one of the more experienced riders. Royal Chant is a danger and Fortunes Hiding could play a part if retaining the bulk of his ability.
