High-class chaser, won the 2020 JLT. On a recovery mission after lacklustre runs the last twice, pulled up quickly before 5 out in the Ryanair 53 days ago. Big drop in class and worth chancing.

High-class chaser. 28¾ lengths fourth of 6 to Chacun Pour Soi in William Hill Champion Chase at Punchestown (16f, good to soft, 16/1) 13 days ago. Hood back on. Player down in grade/back up in trip.
Very smart chaser. Three wins from 7 runs last season, latest at Fairyhouse in April. Punching above his weight in the Punchestown Gold Cup 12 days ago and this is easier.
Seeking a hat-trick in this race and returned with a fine fourth in valuable 24-runner Punchestown handicap hurdle 9 days ago. Blinkers back on. No reason why he won't go well.
Strong traveller who often finds less than looks likely, including behind Peregrine Run in this last year. Won weak event at Clonmel in March before a no show in the Topham 31 days ago. Risky.
Improved to win valuable 24-runner handicap chase at Punchestown (20f, good to soft, 25/1) 12 days ago. Much more needed to make an impact on these terms back up in class.
Successful chase debut at Tipperary (17f, good form) in October. Back on track in handicap at Punchestown 11 days ago, though again flattered to deceive with finishing effort. Longer trip could help.

Forecasts
Unexcepted (11/4), Cilaos Emery (3/1), Easy Game (4/1), Daly Tiger (5/1), Samcro (6/1), Peregrine Run (8/1), Foxy Jacks (11/1), Robin Des Foret (12/1)
SAMCRO is taken to get back on track. Last season was a write-off and all clearly wasn't right with him in the Ryanair, but he's a dual Cheltenham Festival winner taking a big drop in grade here and looks worth chancing. This is a deeper renewal than the races Peregrine Run has won for the last 2 years but he's impossible to ignore after a fine run at Punchestown. Cilaos Emery is also respected.
