Pertemps Network Handicap Chase

Off time: 17:35 | Winning time: 4m 54.25s

The King Of May^p1³⁰

Age: 7| Weight: 11-12| J: J J Burke| T: B Ellison| OR: 130

11/2

Dual winner during 2019/20 campaign and fine effort when a close third off a 3 lb higher mark at Wetherby in December. Struggled in an Aintree Grade 3 handicap last time and now tried in cheekpieces.

Exelerator Express^t²⁶

Age: 7| Weight: 11-10| J: Sam Twiston-Davies| T: N P Mulholland| OR: 128

9/4

Rather fortunate when opening chase account at Uttoxeter in February, but latest success at Huntingdon (16.5f, good) was gained completely on merit. Still, this is tougher up 6 lb.

Form: 423121-

Duke Debarry⁴⁸

Age: 10| Weight: 11-7| J: Danny McMenamin| T: B Ellison| OR: 125| D

33/1

Lightly-raced 10-y-o who made winning debut for Brian Ellison in 2½m Carlisle handicap chase in October 2019. However, went with little encouragement there following a 17-month absence in March.

Form: 15PP1/P-

Go Long^p²⁵

Age: 11| Weight: 11-7| J: Adam Wedge| T: Evan Williams| OR: 125

12/1

Fairly useful chaser who was seen to good effect when making all at Fontwell in November. Runner-up the last twice and should again make his presence felt, albeit without being quite good enough.

Form: 82/1522-

Eamon An Cnoic^b,t³⁵

Age: 10| Weight: 11-7| J: Fergus Gillard⁽⁵⁾| T: D Pipe| OR: 125| BF| C

13/8

Fairly useful form when easily scoring over hurdles at Sandown in February. Did too much too soon when third off this mark in a Carlisle handicap chase (2m, good) last time and he needs considering.

Form: 621203-

Cracking Find²⁸

Age: 10| Weight: 10-13| J: Aidan Coleman| T: J Parkinson & S Smith| OR: 117| D

11/2

Firmly back on track on first start following a wind op when seeing off 4 rivals at Newcastle (2½m, good) last month. Nudged up just 2 lb and should give another good account.

Form: 9/U3671-

Forecasts

Eamon An Cnoic (13/8), Exelerator Express (9/4), The King Of May (11/2), Cracking Find (11/2), Solar Impulse (7/1), The Russian Doyen (10/1), Go Long (12/1), Duke Debarry (33/1)

EAMON AN CNOIC was perhaps a shade too gung-ho when third at Carlisle and, if able to conserve more energy for the finish this time, he could prove a tough nut to crack. Having slipped to an attractive mark, Solar Impulse is next on the list ahead of Cracking Find. Exelerator Express displayed a good attitude at Huntingdon last month, but he has more on his plate here.
