Hurdles winner who ran best race over fences when runner-up in an Exeter handicap (3m) in December. Disappointed next 2 starts, reportedly lame when last seen in March. Undergone wind surgery since.

Bumper winner who opened account over hurdles at Ludlow (23.8f) 14 months ago. Improved further in defeat in staying handicaps over the winter and very much the type to do better now chasing.

Won 3 small-field novice hurdles in 2019. Not straightforward, though showed more than previously over fences when third in a Hereford maiden (25f) in December. Not ruled out.

Forecasts

Southfield Harvest (1/2), Fox Pro (4/1), Sunset Showdown (7/1), Butterwick Brook (11/1), Lisronagh Stone (250/1)

Verdict

SOUTHFIELD HARVEST was winless over hurdles last season but there was plenty to like about his efforts and he gets the nod to make a successful start over fences. Fox Pro and Sunset Showdown are fancied to pose the chief dangers, in that order.

  1. SOUTHFIELD HARVEST
  2. FOX PRO (FR)
  3. SUNSET SHOWDOWN (IRE)
