Has sprouted wings switched to handicaps with tongue strap enlisted the last twice, scoring at Taunton (19f) and latterly over this C&D. Should make a bold bid to complete the hat-trick.

Thunderstruck^p1,t1⁴⁰

Age: 7| Weight: 11-11| J: Thomas Bellamy| T: Miss E C Lavelle| OR: 113

2/1

Point winner who has yet to strike under Rules. However, his latest third off a 2 lb higher mark at Newbury (3m, good to soft) offered hope that his turn may be near. Cheekpieces/tongue strap added.

Form: 626/553-

Drumlee Watar^t¹⁷

Age: 8| Weight: 11-8| J: G Sheehan| T: W Greatrex| OR: 110

13/2

Irish point winner who showed ability in maiden/novice company prior to an improved second upped to 26.4f on recent handicap bow at Stratford (good). Needs considering.

Form: 143/92-

Just A Whim¹⁸

Age: 7| Weight: 11-8| J: Tabitha Worsley⁽⁵⁾| T: L Horsfall| OR: 110

28/1

Decent NH pedigree and appears to be going the right way judged on latest second in 23f Bangor maiden hurdle. However, another step forward will is needed now pitched into a handicap.

Form: 6842-

Albert Hucklebuck^v1⁴⁴

Age: 5| Weight: 10-1| J: J E Moore| T: C Gordon| OR: 89

16/1

Shaped well when runner-up on only start in bumpers. However, little impact since switched to hurdles, including in first-time cheekpieces on handicap debut at Plumpton. Now tried in a visor.

Form: 26043-

Clonusker Lady^h³¹

Age: 6| Weight: 10-0| J: N F Houlihan⁽⁵⁾| T: Mrs L C Jewell| OR: 68

No show in 4 starts to date and impossible to fancy from a long way out of the handicap here.

Forecasts

Windance (5/6), Thunderstruck (2/1), Certainly Red (2/1), Drumlee Watar (13/2), Lugg River (8/1), Albert Hucklebuck (16/1), Just A Whim (28/1), Clonusker Lady (150/1)

Progressive and unexposed, WINDANCE is taken to maintain his 100% record in handicaps. A 6 lb rise for his C&D success last time looks very fair indeed, given that the first two pulled well clear of the rest. Conversely, Certainly Red has been hit pretty hard for his Wincanton breakthrough success and bigger threats to the selection may be posed by Thunderstruck and Drumlee Watar.
