Four wins from 21 runs last year. Latest win at Wolverhampton in March. 17/2, 4 lengths fourth of 7 to Dapper Man in handicap at Ripon (5f, good to firm) 4 days ago. One to consider.

Creditable fifth of 14 in handicap at Newcastle (6f, 66/1). Off 153 days. Yard sent out a winner and a second at Thirsk on Saturday so he warrants respect given the form of the stable.

Forecasts

Dapper Man (4/6), Mutabaahy (9/2), Ventura Express (5/1), Asmund (10/1), Birdie Bowers (22/1), Royal Prospect (28/1)

Verdict

DAPPER MAN is unpenalised for his win in a Ripon apprentice handicap last Thursday and he looks very hard to oppose over a C&D he's been successful at in the past. John Davies seems to have his string in good form having had a winner and a second at Thirsk on Saturday so Birdie Bowers could go well. Mutabaahy looks best of the rest.
