Garrus²⁷

Age: 5| Weight: 9-7| J: James Doyle| T: C Hills| OR: 105| D

9/2

Smart as a 3-y-o and, on the back of 19 months off, he made a winning return in a Wolverhampton conditions' event (5f) last month. He may well come on for that effort and not discounted.

Form: 11230/1

Tis Marvellous^t²⁰

Age: 7| Weight: 9-5| J: R L Moore| T: C G Cox| OR: 103| D

16/1

Smart performer who added to his tally at Leicester (5f) in September. Below form returning from 5 months off in Cammidge Trophy at Doncaster in March but entitled to be sharper here.

Form: 47128-9

(4)

Came From The Dark¹³

Age: 5| Weight: 9-3| J: Hollie Doyle| T: E Walker| OR: 101| D

4/1

Enhanced fine Haydock record in the autumn and, on the back of being gelded/wind op he posted a career best when third in Scottish Sprint Cup 2 weeks ago, doing best of those held up. Possibilities.

Form: 02107-3

(1)

Blue De Vega^t¹¹

Age: 8| Weight: 9-3| J: Ray Dawson⁽³⁾| T: R M H Cowell| OR: 101| D

40/1

Four time winner on turf last season who has performed with credit on 2 of his 4 starts on AW since the turn of the year. Shade underwhelming latest and this tough enough back on turf.

Form: 16-3624

(2)

Mulzim⁵¹

Age: 7| Weight: 8-13| J: Daniel Muscutt| T: M Murphy| OR: 97| D

33/1

Built up a fine record at Southwell for present stable, making it 6 wins from last 8 starts in 5f handicaps in February. Career-high mark to defy on belated turf return, however.

Form: 81-4111

(3)

King's Lynn¹⁷⁵

Age: 4| Weight: 8-10| J: Oisin Murphy| T: A M Balding| OR: 94

11/4

Landed valuable sales' event as a 2-y-o and progressed again last year, finding only Aberama Gold too strong at Doncaster (6f) in October. Gelded since and type to do better again this term. Player.

Form: 21/202-

(7)

Ivatheengine³⁰⁰

Age: 4| Weight: 8-10| J: Rossa Ryan| T: P & O Cole| OR: 94

14/1

Low-mileage son of Ivawood who has improved race-by-race, making light of a 6-month absence to take record to 3-4 at Newmarket (6f) last June. Feasible to think he can do better again.

Form: 211/1-

(6)

Dirty Rascal⁷^{(ex 10)}

Age: 5| Weight: 8-10| J: Laura Pearson⁽⁵⁾| T: G Boughey| OR: 84| C

5/2

Made a cracking start for new stable, winning at Wolverhampton (6f) prior to bolting up at Leicester (7f) 7 days ago. Hard to rule out in this form but this undoubtedly tougher under 10 lb penalty.

Form: 059-211

Forecasts

Dirty Rascal (5/2), King's Lynn (11/4), Came From The Dark (4/1), Garrus (9/2), Ivatheengine (14/1), Tis Marvellous (16/1), Mulzim (33/1), Blue De Vega (40/1)

A low-mileage sort, KING'S LYNN ended last season with a solid second at Doncaster (6f) in October, doing as well as he could having come from a little too far back. He remains open to improvement as a sprinter embarking on his 4-y-o campaign (having been gelded) and he gets the nod to make a winning return. Ivatheengine is similarly progressive and is feared, along with Garrus and Dirty Rascal.
