Commanche Red^v1³⁰

Age: 8| Weight: 12-2| J: J E Moore| T: C Gordon| OR: 127| D

7/1

Disappointing on the whole this season, but he went close in a jumpers bumper 3 starts back and will be a danger to all off this mark if perked up by the first-time visor.

South Terrace¹⁰⁴

Age: 6| Weight: 11-12| J: Charlie Hammond| T: Dr R D P Newland| OR: 123

15/8

Much improved when landing gamble in 19.3f Catterick maiden hurdle in December, overcoming trouble and asserting well. Likely has even better to come now handicapping for new yard.

Form: P12-641

Playa Blanca²³

Age: 6| Weight: 11-9| J: Ben Jones⁽³⁾| T: J W Mullins| OR: 120

6/1

Completed hurdles 4-timer on return at Kelso in October, but form has dipped badly of late and he's passed over this time.

Form: 120670

Top Man⁴³

Age: 7| Weight: 11-7| J: Nick Scholfield| T: C Gordon| OR: 118| CD

3/1

C&D maiden hurdle winner last term and made winning return/chase debut at Fontwell. Creditable fourth of 15 on sole completed start in a handicap hurdle at Kempton on Boxing Day and he merits respect.

Form: 6-1FF4U

Neff^v⁸⁷

Age: 6| Weight: 11-6| J: Joshua Moore| T: G & J Moore| OR: 117

9/2

Dual winner at Fontwell last season and returned to form when third in a first-time visor there (17.7f, heavy) in January. Conditions here won't be an issue and he's a player off the same mark.

Form: 10-7363

Mistersister^p1,t²²

Age: 4| Weight: 11-0| J: Harry Skelton| T: C J Mann| OR: 118

14/1

Won a claiming hurdle on final start in France, but hasn't made much of an impact since crossing the Channel and improvement needed with cheekpieces added for this handicap debut.

Form: 71P753

Forecasts

South Terrace (15/8), Top Man (3/1), Neff (9/2), Playa Blanca (6/1), Commanche Red (7/1), Mistersister (14/1)

The most interesting of these is SOUTH TERRACE, who justified strong support when landing a Catterick maiden on his latest start in December and almost certainly has more to offer for his new connections now pitched into a handicap. The Chris Gordon-trained duo Top Man and Commanche Red are both feared (in that order of preference) and Neff also has claims in a competitive contest.
