Successful on return/handicap debut last season prior to some sound efforts in defeat, notably when second in Britannia Handicap at Royal Ascot. Possible he will do better again this term.

Promise in pair of starts as a juvenile and made it 2-4 in handicaps last summer, latterly at Newmarket (1m) in July. Career-high mark to defy on return but he remains low mileage.

Latest win at Wolverhampton in November. 5/1, fifth of 7 in handicap at Wolverhampton (9.5f), hampered after 2f and ultimately left poorly placed. No forlorn hope back on turf.

Low-mileage Kingman colt who was all out to hold on when doubling career tally at Lingfield (1m) in November. However, in excellent hands and it's distinctly possible he can rate higher still.

Back-to-back handicap winner last summer (latterly over C&D) and not seen to best effect having raced near side when fourth at Redcar (1m) in October. Remains with potential.

Gained fifth career success at Southwell (7f) in January. Creditable fourth of 14 in handicap at Lingfield (7f, AW, 5/1) 5 days ago but this is a tough return to turf.

Forecasts

Finest Sound (5/2), Nugget (3/1), Astro King (16/5), Ayr Harbour (5/1), Turn On The Charm (9/1), Kryptos (14/1)

Verdict

Competitive despite the small field, with TURN ON THE CHARM fancied to come out on top. A back-to-back winner in handicaps last summer, latterly over C&D, he wasn't seen to anything like best effect when fourth at Redcar on his final start, and remains open to improvement. Finest Sound and Astro King are others to consider.

  1. TURN ON THE CHARM (FR)
  2. FINEST SOUND (IRE)
  3. ASTRO KING (IRE)
