Completed a hat-trick over fences in 2018 and looked better than ever when winning handicaps at Stratford/Fontwell this season. Struggled in Old Roan at Aintree since but this easier. Off 5 months.

Well backed and better than ever when justifying that support in a handicap chase at Uttoxeter in August. Might have needed run after 7 months off at Hereford last month and better expected now.

Useful chaser who scored in 2m3f Plumpton handicap on return but disappointed at Doncaster following month. Had a spin in a jumpers bumper at Kempton 53 days ago, shaping as if in form.

Didn't go on from winning chase debut last term but got career back on track when second at Kempton return in January. Struggled at Newbury next time, though.

Below par since third to Cap du Nord at Newbury (2m6f) in November, not going with much zip at Kempton latest.

Dual novice chase winner over this sort of trip in 2018 and all his ability remains judged by third at Warwick. Found handicap at Cheltenham Festival too competitive since.

Has continued his progress this season, making all in handicap chase at Wincanton and hurdle at Fakenham. Disappointed next time but type to bounce back.

Shaped pretty well on belated reappearance in January and subsequently not beaten far when fourth in a Kempton jumpers bumper. Disappointed when well backed at Sandown since but worth another chance.

Forecasts

Solomon Grey (7/2), Not A Role Model (9/2), The Flying Sofa (5/1), The Unit (11/2), Dr Sanderson (11/2), Mellow Ben (15/2), Pistol Whipped (11/1), Imperial Presence (25/1)

Verdict

SOLOMON GREY proved better than ever when justifying strong support at Uttoxeter in the summer before shaping as if needing the run at Hereford after 7 months off. Better is expected now and he is taken to resume winning ways. Dr Sanderson is next best ahead of The Flying Sofa.
