Improved again to win a couple of handicap hurdles around this trip in the autumn but let down by jumping back over fences when unseating 5 out at Ludlow last month. More needed to feature here.

Dual bumper winner who got his career back on track when winning first 2 starts at Sedgefield this season. However, not in same form on both starts this year so may be in grip of handicapper for now.

Fairly useful hurdler/chaser who, having left Neil Mulholland, proved at least as good as ever as he opened his account over fences on second start for this yard at Doncaster 17 days ago. Big player.

French import who bettered his hurdles form at the first attempt when making a successful debut over fences at Hereford last month. The second that day has won since and there could be better to come.

Rather disappointing as a novice last term, but having undergone a wind op he acquitted himself well in decent handicaps at Hereford and Newcastle this season. Hard to win with so remains opposable.

Forecasts

Bootlegger (7/4), Equus Dancer (3/1), Fraternel (10/3), Aye Aye Charlie (13/2), Flashing Glance (10/1)

Verdict

Impossible to rule any of these out but preference is for BOOTLEGGER, who proved at least as good as ever as he opened his account over fences at Doncaster last month and can continue Tristan Davidson's rich vein of form. Fraternel rates as the main threat having made a winning chasing debut at Hereford just over 3 weeks ago, ahead of Equus Dancer.

  1. BOOTLEGGER (IRE)
  2. FRATERNEL (FR)
  3. EQUUS DANCER (IRE)
