Fairly useful hurdler who wasn't disgraced in 2 chases in the autumn. Runner-up finish in AW jumpers bumper 55 days ago suggests he's in good form ahead of this return to hurdles after wind surgery.

Useful on Flat in Germany (stays 1¾m). Easily best effort for this yard when second in 2m Warwick novice 21 days ago. Flat ability provides hope for better now handicapping back up in trip.

Fairly useful hurdler at best, although he was well held on Wetherby handicap debut in November. Also down the field in a jumpers bumper in January. Others hold more pressing claims.

Encouragement in bumpers and shaped up well over hurdles in the autumn, finishing second on Musselburgh handicap debut when last seen 132 days ago. Slightly longer trip now a help. More to come.

Has yet to build on handicap debut/return, again running below form in first-time cheekpieces (retained) at Southwell in February. Watching brief advised unless the betting speaks in his favour.

Modest hurdles winner who resumed winning ways at Newcastle (2½m) in December. Well held next start and whilst not disgraced in a jumpers bumper he has no easy task on from revised mark.

C&D winner in June 2019 but the handicapper has held the upper hand since. Latest Wincanton third creditable but others are preferred for win purposes again.

Forecasts

Universal Folly (2/1), Fletch (5/2), Ernesto (3/1), Diamond Rose (11/2), Shetland Bus (15/2), Giovanni Change (9/1), Wasdell Dundalk (9/1), Donald Dux (16/1)

Verdict

It's unlikely UNIVERSAL FOLLY has reached his limit so he's taken to build on his Musselburgh handicap debut second in November and go one better on his return to action. Uttoxeter maiden winner Fletch is another who should have more to offer and he looks the chief threat now stepping up in trip for his handicap bow. Ernesto looks best of the remainder.

  1. UNIVERSAL FOLLY
  2. FLETCH (FR)
  3. ERNESTO (GER)
