Placed all 5 starts under Rules, again finding one too good over C&D 24 days ago. Leading claims once again but has had enough chances to get the head in front.
Fetched €70,000 as a 3-y-o and justified market support when making a winning bumper debut at Kelso. Stepped up on hurdling bow when third over C&D 24 days ago. Each-way player with tongue tie added.
September Storm gelding. Half-brother to temperamental but modest hurdler/chaser The Bishop and modest chaser Smiling Jessica. Dam unraced.
Improved when runner-up on handicap debut at Leicester in November. Ran as well as his form entitled him to when fourth of 8 in a similar event at Doncaster last month so looks set to go close here.
Fair but untrustworth Flat winner, making GB/IRE jumps debut. Not disgrace when fifth of 11 in handicap (28/1) at Newcastle (10.2f) 55 days ago, unable to sustain effort. Others preferred.
Fairly useful form when landing 2m bumper at Sedgefield in December. Fell early on hurdles debut later that month and did shape a bit better than that when a well-beaten fourth over C&D last month.
Modest form at best in 3 starts on Flat at 2 years. Hard to recommend on hurdles bow after 19 months off the track.
Fair maiden on Flat who achieved nothing when well held over C&D on first outing since leaving Mick Channon after 5 months off 24 days ago. Readily passed over.
Dual winner on the Flat (both on AW), the latest a 1¼m Newcastle handicap in October. Made a discouraging start over hurdles over C&D over Christmas so can't be recommended here.
Dunaden gelding who was tailed off long way out at this course 9 days ago. The likelihood is that he'll be brought along with handicaps as the aim so others appeal more on this occasion.
No impact all 3 starts to date for David Thompson and looks set for another struggle in a first-time hood on hurdling debut.

Forecasts
Barrichello (4/5), Fete Champetre (3/1), Monarchofthegrange (3/1), Not What It Seems (16/1), Spantik (28/1), My Boy Lewis (50/1), Greymares Tail (66/1), Honnold (80/1), Sugar Butties (200/1), One Step Too Far (250/1), Shibuffy (300/1)
Only a handful of these make any serious appeal, with MONARCHOFTHEGRANGE getting the vote to come out on top having ran as well as his form entitled him to when finishing fourth at Doncaster last month. Barrichello has filled the runner-up spot on his last 4 starts and that trend looks set to continue here, while Fete Champetre rates as a solid each-way option.

- BARRICHELLO
