Bumper winner who left his hurdling debut form well behind when third of 15 in Wincanton novice in January. Failed to build on that next time, though, and improvement needed now handicapping.
Rather in-and-out since landing a 2½m novice at Fakenham last winter, and others make more appeal from a win point of view.
Ended last season on a winning note at Kelso, but hasn't come close to matching that level of form this time round.
Winner of a mares' maiden at Huntingdon last season, but hasn't managed to add to that in 9 subsequent starts and hopes pinned on first-time cheekpieces helping to spark a return to form.
Just 1-16 over hurdles for Nick Alexander, but has made a positive start for this yard, creditable fourth of 13 back in this sphere at Market Rasen (20.6f, soft) last time. High on the shortlist.
Posted much his best effort of the season so far when third at Hereford (25.5f, heavy) recently. Each-way chance off the same mark here if coping with the faster ground.
Several creditable placed efforts to his name, not least when runner-up in first-time cheekpieces at Hereford in February. Disappointing back there next time, but claims if able to bounce back.
Improved handicap debut second at Doncaster on final start of last term, but he appears to have gone the wrong way since.
Lightly-raced maiden hurdler who needs to find improvement from somewhere in order to play a leading role.

Forecasts
Off The Hook (4/5), Evenstevens (13/2), Young Offender (7/1), Animal (9/1), Oscar Asche (9/1), Frisco Bay (14/1), Compadre (16/1), Lisdoonvarna Lad (25/1), Espinator (28/1), Fricka (28/1), Bryden Boy (40/1)
OFF THE HOOK makes plenty of appeal in a race bigger on quantity than quality. Indeed, she wasn't beaten far in a more competitive race than this at Market Rasen last time and remains on an attractive mark. Frisco Bay and Oscar Asche are others to consider.
