Flat winner who opened hurdles account at Uttoxeter (2m) last summer. Second at Sedgefield when last seen and returns with yard in good form. Worth considering.

Fetched €125,000 as 3-y-o and is a close relative to high-class chaser Riders Onthe Storm, but hasn't shaped with much immediate promise. Likely to need more time.

Runner-up twice over hurdles in France at the end of 2019. Disappointing on debut for yard at Ayr (2m) in November but was very well backed and that support needs remembering. Worth another chance.

Showed up much better sent hurdling in a first-time tongue strap/after wind op when second at Catterick (19.3f) 4 weeks ago. Has races in him on that evidence.

Lightly raced up to 1m on the Flat (fairly useful form at best), faded on hurdles debut at Hexham (2m) in October and must be doubts over his stamina for this game.

Forecasts

Fantastic Rock (11/8), Geromino (3/1), Check My Pulse (3/1), The Great Houdini (12/1), Hajey (14/1), Desert Sapphire (16/1), Muhtamar (28/1), Cheeky Ches (33/1), Les's Legacy (40/1), Lord Buttons (40/1), Akentrick (50/1), Roma Bangkok (50/1), Famous Moment (50/1), Still A Spark (300/1)

Verdict

FANTASTIC ROCK let down his supporters starting out for Sandy Thomson at Ayr in November but that form doesn't look too bad 4 months on and he's probably worth another chance in a thin novice. Uttoxeter winner Check My Pulse, also back from a break, could be the danger.

  1. FANTASTIC ROCK (FR)
  2. CHECK MY PULSE (IRE)
  3. GEROMINO (FR)
