Irish point winner who landed a Huntingdon handicap chase over a year ago. Responded well to first-time headgear when scoring at Wetherby earlier this month and there could be more to come.

Smart 3-time chaser winner in 2016/17. Not at that level over hurdles in recent seasons and found things too competitive when well beaten at Ascot last month. More needed back over fences.

Fairly useful winner at 21f over hurdles who ran well in spite of the drop back in trip when runner-up at Wincanton 23 days ago, finishing with running left. Leading claims with improvement expected.

Useful chaser at best but just the one creditable effort last season and little impact in three starts this term, including after a wind op last time. Easily passed over.

Proved a different proposition switched to fences after wind op/tongue tied when winning at Huntingdon in December. Remains in form, running creditably over a longer trip last time. Cheekpieces go on.

Has matched his fairly useful hurdle form on his completed starts over fences this season, running respectably back up in trip when third at Huntingdon 19 days ago. Each-way player.

Yet to get his head in front and followed a below-par effort with an even worse one in a first-time tongue tie when tailed-off sixth at Taunton last month. Mark continues to tumble.

Gained second win of season at Cheltenham (25f) in October. Possibly found things a shade too competitive in the Devon National last time and the blinkers go back on for the first time in a while.

Forecasts

Dublin Four (7/2), Saint De Reve (4/1), Premiumaccess (4/1), Hes No Trouble (11/2), Buster Thomas (6/1), Broadclyst (7/1), Label Des Obeaux (17/2), Bermeo (10/1), Another Stowaway (33/1)

Verdict

SAINT DE REVE is built for chasing, and having unseated on his debut in this sphere back in December, got right back on track when runner-up at Wincanton earlier this month. He still looked a bit rough around the edges that day and this longer trip should bring out the necessary improvement. Buster Thomas rates as the chief threat after a short break, ahead of Hes No Trouble and Premiumaccess.

  2. BUSTER THOMAS (IRE)
  3. HES NO TROUBLE (IRE)
