Smart performer at peak but below that level in his 3 outings this year. Visored first time. Only a return to his very best will suffice.

Lightly-raced 6-y-o who proved well suited by the drop to sprinting when winning C&D handicap last month by 2¼ lengths from Important Mission. Looks capable of winning at pattern level.

Swedish-trained 5-y-o who failed to make an impact here last winter and didn't offer enough in a 6f turf handicap back here last month to suggest he can play a prominent role here.

Forecasts

Canvassed (11/4), Premier Star (11/4), Good Effort (7/2), Important Mission (4/1), Bochart (10/1), Alkaraama (18/1), Upper Class (28/1), Enjazaat (28/1), Behavioral Bias (50/1), Lavaspin (66/1), Es Raco (100/1), Almoradi (100/1), Shanaghai City (100/1)

Verdict

CANVASSED proved well suited by the drop to sprinting when winning a C&D handicap last month and can take the step up in class in his stride. Good Effort made a solid start to his career over here when fourth in a C&D Group 3 in January and rates an obvious danger under Frankie Dettori. Important Mission is also respected, while American-import Premier Star is another interesting contender.

  1. CANVASSED (IRE)
  2. GOOD EFFORT (IRE)
  3. IMPORTANT MISSION (USA)
