Put in a good shift when going close back from a 13-month absence at Fontwell (21.8f, soft) in December, but she's 0-19 over hurdles and temperament isn't all it could be.

Three-time hurdles winner in Ireland for previous connections, but most recent of those victories was back in August 2017 and he hasn't shone in 7 starts on this side of the pond.

Hit-and-miss since landing a Market Rasen handicap hurdle in August 2019, her sole success form 19 starts in this sphere. Pulled up on chase debut at Ffos Las last month and others preferred.

Appeared to benefit from the step up in trip when opening his account over C&D in January. 7 lb rise demands more, but he still has low mileage and has to enter calculations.

Placed on a few occasions for Gavin Cromwell in Ireland, but efforts for this yard have been decidedly inauspicious.

Solid second at Wetherby on latest start in this sphere, but that was back in April 2019 and subsequent efforts between the flags (early last year) left much to be desired. Debut for new yard.

Still seeking a first career win, but has finished in the money on 6 of his 10 hurdles starts, including when second to Avithos (winner again since) at Fakenham last month. Needs considering.

Bagged a 25f Huntingdon handicap in first-time cheekpieces last term, and sported that headgear again when sixth of 11 at Musselburgh on New Year's Day. 2 lb lower now and couldn't rule out.

Point winner, but only displayed modest form in bumpers and 3 efforts in this sphere have lacked spark, too. Big step forward needed on handicap debut.

Landed 2m3f Exeter handicap hurdle back in 2015, but has offered precious little in limited subsequent appearances under Rules, including on recent return for new yard in a Fontwell handicap chase.

Improved from out of the blue when runner-up in a Kempton novices' handicap on final run of 2018/19 campaign. However, missed whole of last season and recent reappearance in a jumpers bumper was poor.

Forecasts

Midnight Aurora (13/8), First Assembly (11/4), One For Dunstan (3/1), Get An Oscar (17/2), Eglantier (12/1), Kilkeaskin Molly (16/1), St Lawrence Gap (22/1), Uknowwhatimean (33/1), Our Nest Egg (33/1), Alfie Corbitt (40/1), Ratoute Yutty (50/1), Miss Malarky (50/1), Tugboat (66/1), Mary Of De Sorrows (80/1), Thomas Junior (100/1)

Verdict

There's cause for optimism where MIDNIGHT AURORA is concerned, given that she hinted at a revival with cheekpieces refitted at Musselburgh last time, plus she's now 8 lb below last winning mark and the drying ground will also be in her favour. Dan Skelton's charge gets the nod ahead of last-time-out C&D winner One For Dunstan and consistent maiden First Assembly.

  1. MIDNIGHT AURORA
  2. ONE FOR DUNSTAN (IRE)
  3. FIRST ASSEMBLY (IRE)
