Half-brother to 3 winners, including ungenuine but fairly useful chaser Auldthunder and unreliable but fair hurdler/chaser Terfel's Toscar. Exceeded expectations when runner-up in a 2m course maiden.

Best effort yet when second of 9 on handicap debut at Hexham on the back of a wind op in December. That race well advertised since and he ought to be a factor back in a maiden.

Promise both starts in bumpers, third of 10 at Musselburgh a month ago. Bred to stay this far over hurdles.

Well-beaten sixth in maiden hunter at Hexham on chasing debut back in May 2019. Off the mark in points at fifth attempt subsequently but looks a handicap project.

£40,000 buy who showed ability in a pair of bumpers towards the end of 2020 and he should have a future over jumps.

Third in Irish point in spring 2019 but could only manage a remote fourth in a C&D maiden hurdle on his Rules debut in November. Will need to leave that well behind.

Fair maiden hurdler/chaser for David Cottin in France. Appeared to match that form on her second start for this yard here in November, but still has something to prove now back hurdling.

Forecasts

Gold Cup Bailly (8/11), Itsnotyouitsme (7/2), Lanty Slea (9/2), Jante Law (8/1), Flower Of Scotland (17/2), Ahoy Senor (16/1), Shaka The King (20/1), East Harlem (28/1), Etoile D'ecosse (40/1), Just Don't Know (50/1), Lead The Pack (50/1), All Loved Up (125/1), Angelsea Lace (250/1)

Verdict

Having won his point in Ireland, GOLD CUP BAILLY emerged with plenty of credit when third in a big-field novice at Punchestown a fortnight ago. Expected to build on that, he should take some stopping. Itsnotyouitsme upped his game in a handicap last time and that form has been boosted since, with Lanty Slea sure to relish this trip now hurdling.

  1. GOLD CUP BAILLY (FR)
  2. ITSNOTYOUITSME
  3. LANTY SLEA (IRE)
