Won twice at Cartmel in August and has continued in good form, second of 7 in novice hurdle here (19.3f, heavy) 44 days ago. Makes handicap bow and much respected with good 7 lb conditional again up.

Had usual hood left off when bouncing back to form with win in 2m handicap (12/1) at Newbury 27 days ago, forging clear. Hit with 8 lb rise though so another step forward is needed.

Fairly useful hurdler who proved disappointing over fences last season and was also pulled up over hurdles at Wetherby on return in October. Back from a break with blinkers on and a bit to prove.

Forecasts

Pyramid Place (1/1), Maskada (5/2), Oscars Leader (5/1), Pop The Cork (6/1), Finisk River (13/2), Diodorus (11/1), The Some Dance Kid (12/1), Ilaya (14/1), Turning Gold (25/1)

Verdict

PYRAMID PLACE made light of his opening handicap mark when a stylish scorer at Taunton and is fancied to defy an 8 lb hike with more improvement in the pipeline. Finisk River arrives in top form and with an excellent 7 lb conditional up so is feared most on his first go in a handicap with Oscars Leader not discounted either in a switch of headgear.

  1. PYRAMID PLACE (IRE)
  2. FINISK RIVER
  3. OSCARS LEADER (IRE)
