Newcastle bumper winner who completed a simple task to open hurdles account at Ayr (2m, heavy) in December. Should definitely be more to come from him.

Timeform
Well held in bumpers for Ronald O'Neill in Ireland so hard to fancy now hurdling for new yard.
|
Timeform
Maiden pointer who was picked up for only £1,800 last year. Can only be watched.
|
Timeform
Sholokhov gelding who showed only greenness when well beaten in an Ayr bumper on debut in November. Makes hurdles bow.
|
Timeform
Tiger Groom gelding. Dam bumper/2½m-21f chase winner. Produced a promising first effort when third of 13 in a Fontwell bumper in November. Nice hurdle prospect.
|
Timeform
Too keen in a Musselburgh bumper in February, but was set to score comfortably on hurdling bow when falling at the last at Catterick (19f, heavy) 36 days ago. Can make amends now.
|
Timeform
Just modest form in a pair of bumpers. Likely to need time and distance judging on pedigree.
|
Timeform
£14,000 Arcadio half-brother to fairly useful hurdler/fair chaser Misala and fair hunter chaser Excitable Island. Wetlands has to be considered yard first string unless betting hints otherwise.
|
Timeform
Third in a Clonmel bumper in standout but that very much a standout from 6 attempts in that sphere for Ronald O'Neill in Ireland. One of two here starting out for new yard.
|
Timeform
Improved on promise showed in pair of Irish bumpers when winning at Uttoxeter for new yard last winter. Off 13 months, well-held fifth on Exeter hurdle debut but should improve with that under belt.

Shaped as if in need of the experience on bumper debut here 10 weeks ago. Might need more time and distance over jumps.
|
Timeform
Well held in bumpers (tongue tied latest).

Forecasts

Malpas (7/4), Wetlands (2/1), Gulliver Collonges (7/2), Taste The Fear (15/2), Royal Arcade (16/1), Fudgeman (25/1), Stowaway John (33/1), Ballytobin (33/1), Pitempton Power (50/1), The Jad Factor (66/1), West End Woody (100/1), Epson Roque (100/1)

Verdict

MALPAS would have scored comfortably at Catterick but for falling at the last so is effectively a winner without a penalty and can make the most of the 7 lb he receives from Wetlands. Gulliver Collonges shaped quite nicely in his sole bumper and looks best of the remainder.
