Off time: 15:25 | Winning time: 3m 30.65s

Air Hair Lair³⁵

Age: 5| Weight: 11-4| J: N F Houlihan⁽⁷⁾| T: Miss S West

50/1

Modest maiden on the Flat and yet to match that form over hurdles for all he posted an encouraging second at Plumpton 35 days ago. Likely to be outclassed.

Form: 778-82

Atomic Jack⁷³

Age: 6| Weight: 11-4| J: R Johnson| T: George Baker| D

5/1

Fairly useful winner on Flat (stays 2½m) who went with enthusiasm when fourth in a novice at Plumpton on his first go in this discipline. Underperformed next time but proven on AW, so strong claims.

Form: 46

Diamond Joel¹²²⁸

Age: 9| Weight: 11-4| J: Bryony Le Clerc| T: Sarah Hollinshead

125/1

Former stayer on the Flat who has shown nothing over hurdles and hasn't been seen for over 3 years. Easily passed over.

Form: 570/

Dont Go Gentle⁵³

Age: 5| Weight: 11-4| J: Sam Twiston-Davies| T: N & W Twiston-Davies

11/1

Modest form in bumpers and improved on previous hurdling efforts when fifth in novice at Taunton 53 days ago. Might not be ideally suited by this sharp track, though.

Form: 30-445

Full Spes³³

Age: 5| Weight: 11-4| J: G Sheehan| T: W Greatrex

22/1

Fair form when in the frame first 2 bumper starts but disappointing since, including all 3 starts over hurdles.

Form: 43-0658

Mystic Dreamer²⁰

Age: 7| Weight: 10-11| J: Tabitha Worsley⁽⁵⁾| T: N J Gifford| BF

15/8

Career best when readily winning 17f handicap hurdle at Exeter in November. Not discounted subsequently and landed a bumper in the past, so he's one for the shortlist.

Form: 454-813

Raven's Raft¹⁰

Age: 6| Weight: 10-11| J: Lee Edwards| T: Dave Roberts

40/1

Modest Flat winner who hasn't cut much ice as a hurdler to date. Likely to come up short for ability.

Form: 9834

Saturn 'n Silk²⁹

Age: 6| Weight: 10-11| J: T Scudamore| T: M Scudamore

9/1

Made the frame in a couple of bumpers and has made a promising start in mares' novice hurdles. Capable of making an impact.

Form: 04-2333

Royaume Uni²²

Age: 4| Weight: 10-7| J: Joshua Moore| T: G & J Moore

15/8

Well-bred French Flat winner who has shown encouragement in a couple of juvenile hurdles for this yard and should be suited by this sort of scenario. Not discounted.

Form: 74

Forecasts

Royaume Uni (15/8), Mystic Dreamer (15/8), Atomic Jack (5/1), Saturn 'n Silk (9/1), Dont Go Gentle (11/1), Full Spes (22/1), Raven's Raft (40/1), Air Hair Lair (50/1), Diamond Joel (125/1)

ATOMIC JACK has been somewhat let down by his jumping over hurdles, but he has a couple of polytrack wins to his name on the Flat, so he should appreciate this sort of scenario. Mystic Dreamer is the pick on bumper form, so he's a danger along with Saturn 'N Silk.
