Pulled up on Rules bow at Hexham but proved a completely different proposition upped markedly in trip when forging clear to land 25f Carlisle maiden. That was a weak race but he could improve again.

£17,000 Jeremy gelding. Off mark in Irish points at fifth attempt last time (September) and market likely best guide now switching to Rules.

Promise in bumpers and fairly useful over hurdles, returning to something like his best when third of 11 in 25f Huntingdon maiden in November. Solid claims.

Timeform
Showed much improved form when 9½ lengths second of 8 to Seven Eye Bridge in a maiden hurdle at Carlisle (25f) 36 days, but that was a weak contest.

Forecasts

Imperial Knight (1/3), Gold Miner (13/8), Seven Eye Bridge (7/2), Corach Rambler (14/1), Stolen Money (16/1), Worcester Pearmain (20/1), Houston Texas (100/1)

Verdict

GOLD MINER shaped most encouragingly on his hurdling debut at Leicester and, with that performance supported by a very good timefigure, he's well worth another chance now stepping up in trip. Seven Eye Bridge has to shoulder a penalty for winning an ordinary affair at Carlisle, so Imperial Knight is feared most.

  2. IMPERIAL KNIGHT (IRE)
  3. SEVEN EYE BRIDGE (IRE)
