Useful novice hurdler last term and creditable fifth of 14 in Greatwood at Cheltenham on return in November. Didn't get very far on recent chase debut, but merits respect back in this sphere.

Accounted for some useful types when opening hurdles account in juvenile event at Kempton last term. However, latest effort in Cheltenham handicap was underwhelming and he's probably worth taking on.

Very promising earlier in his career, but not at his best in handful of runs last season and well held both starts returned to this sphere for new yard in recent weeks.

Much improved since fitted with a visor, winning twice from the front last February. Has found just one too good in handicaps at Sandown and Haydock this season, and another bold show anticipated.

Forecasts

Edwardstone (1/1), Oscars Leader (6/4), Langer Dan (7/2), Rowland Ward (15/2), Crooks Peak (18/1)

Verdict

Though disappointing at Plumpton on his latest start in November, LANGER DAN has subsequently undergone wind surgery and will have every chance if that procedure has had the desired effect. The 5-y-o wasn't beaten far off 4 lb higher in the Fred Winter at the Cheltenham Festival last March, so he's certainly on a workable mark. The consistent Oscars Leader is second choice ahead of Edwardstone.

  1. LANGER DAN (IRE)
  2. OSCARS LEADER (IRE)
  3. EDWARDSTONE
