Born At Midnight⁷⁴³

Age: 6| Weight: 10-12| J: Jay Tidball⁽¹⁰⁾| T: W G M Turner

66/1

Merely hinted at ability in a bumper on debut then well held on completed start over hurdles. Hard to make any sort of case for now chasing.

Staithes^h1³³

Age: 6| Weight: 10-12| J: Tabitha Worsley⁽⁵⁾| T: L Horsfall

66/1

Point winner who didn't cut much ice in a bumper/novice hurdle for Nicky Henderson and now debuts for a much smaller yard switched to fences. Makes no appeal.

Form: 1/0-5F

Umbrigado^p,t³⁷

Age: 7| Weight: 10-12| J: T Scudamore| T: D Pipe| OR: 139

1/2

Useful hurdler who showed aptitude for chasing when runner-up in a 3-runner Uttoxeter maiden in December. Very much the type to progress and boasts leading claims with cheekpieces back on.

Form: 6/560-22

Up The Straight¹¹

Age: 7| Weight: 10-12| J: James Davies| T: R Rowe| OR: 136| BF| D

7/4

Useful hurdler. No match for smart Chantry House on his Ascot chase debut (19f) in November but it was a satisfactory start over fences. Hampered and unseated next time, so remains with potential.

Form: 31-432U

Non-Runners

Bit Of A Legend¹¹

Weight: 10-12| Age: 7

Forecasts

Umbrigado (1/2), Up The Straight (7/4), Staithes (66/1), Born At Midnight (66/1), Bit Of A Legend (100/1)

This looks a match between UMBRIGADO and Up The Straight, who are both open to improvement in this discipline. The first-named was the superior hurdler and made a reasonable chasing debut at Uttoxeter 37 days ago, so he's taken to prevail.
