Cepage²⁸

Age: 9| Weight: 11-12| J: Charlie Deutsch| T: Miss V Williams| OR: 154| D

11/4

Fine servant to connections who landed a good pot at Cheltenham last term. However, given his good record when fresh, it was disconcerting to see him perform so poorly on return there last month.

Form: 24617-P

Esprit Du Large⁶¹

Age: 7| Weight: 11-9| J: Adam Wedge| T: Evan Williams| OR: 151| BF| D

11/4

Made into smart novice last term, the highlight being his Grade 1 success at Sandown. Bit to prove now, though, having failed to land the odds in a Carlisle graduation chase in November.

Form: 211F-F3

Tidal Flow^p⁵⁹

Age: 8| Weight: 11-2| J: T J O'Brien| T: P Hobbs & J White| OR: 144

6/1

Dual winner as a novice last term shaped well for a long way on Newton Abbot return in October. However, latest effort at Bangor was poor and needs to get back on track.

Form: 3121-3P

Not Another Muddle²¹

Age: 10| Weight: 10-6| J: J E Moore| T: G & J Moore| OR: 134| D

33/1

Pulled up at the Cheltenham Festival on sole outing last term, and the outcome was the same on his reappearance at Ascot 3 weeks ago.

Form: 3152/P-P

Tiquer³⁷⁹

17/2

Veteran who proved that he's still capable of useful form when landing this race off 5 lb lower mark last term. Absent since (undergone wind surgery in the interim), but dangerous to discount.

Form: 7144/P1-

My Way^p,t³⁶

Age: 7| Weight: 10-0| J: Bryony Le Clerc| T: P F Nicholls| OR: 127| BF

5/2

Belatedly off the mark in Stratford maiden hurdle in October and he's gone with plenty of zest both starts over fences subsequently. This drop back in trip looks a good move and he needs considering.

Form: 266-145

Forecasts

Gala Ball (13/8), My Way (5/2), Cepage (11/4), Esprit Du Large (11/4), Tidal Flow (6/1), Tiquer (17/2), Not Another Muddle (33/1)

Though 0-11 in this sphere, MY WAY has plenty of solid form to his name, not least his fine fourth in the Badger Beers at Wincanton. He could prove hard to beat back down in trip here. Last year's winner Tiquer isn't getting any younger, but he is feared most given that Cepage, Esprit du Large and Tidal Flow, talented though they are, all have questions to answer at present.
