Fair gelding. 38/1, fifth of 9 in minor event at Maisons-Laffitte (8f, good). Off 20 months ahead of this debut for new yard and probably worth taking on.

Seventh of 14 in bumper (10/1) at Catterick (15.7f, good to soft) 40 days ago, travelling strongly. Should make his mark in this sphere, albeit probably more one for handicaps further down the line.

Promising type. 16/1, second of 10 in maiden at Sandown (10f, good) on debut in June. First run for yard after leaving Michael Bell and he should have more to offer.

22/1, sixth of 9 in minor event at Lingfield (10f, AW) on debut 21 days ago. That experience won't be wasted on him and no surprise at all if he's on the premises.

Forecasts

Father Of Jazz (4/11), Moohareeba (7/2), Toora Loora (17/2), Delta River (10/1), Going Underground (16/1), Flammarion (80/1), Carmenere (100/1), Juriste (200/1)

Verdict

This looks ripe for the well-bred FATHER OF JAZZ, who belied market weakness when second to useful dual subsequent winner Mambo Nights on debut in a Sandown maiden in June. He has since joined Roger Varian and improvement should be forthcoming. Moohareeba did little wrong when chasing home a Varian-trained newcomer here recently and she is feared most ahead of Toora Loora and Going Underground.

  1. FATHER OF JAZZ
  2. MOOHAREEBA
  3. TOORA LOORA
