It's now fourteen runs since his last win in 2019 but he posted a creditable second in 20f handicap chase at Lingfield last time. Not one for maximum faith back hurdling.

Useful hurdler and finally off the mark over fences at Doncaster in February. Not so good at Aintree after a promising return at Hereford but interesting back over hurdles in change of headgear.

Dual hurdle winner at up to 19f in Ireland for Noel Meade in 2018/19. Probably needed the run on first start for 20 months at Haydock for new yard and could show more in first-time tongue tie now.

Fairly useful hurdler. Possibly needed the run when well below form on his reappearance but he will need to step up considerably on that. Engaged 2.05 Haydock Saturday.

Left his reappearance behind but was probably a fortunate winner at Wetherby (2m) last month (left in front 2 out). Had better form over fences in France though, so may do better again up in trip.

Star of Roryt32

Made great strides with the tongue tie fitted, winning 3 times, and was in the process of running well when departing at Warwick last month. This is tougher.

Age: 7|  Weight: 10-3| J: Jack Tudor(3)| T: S Drinkwater| OR:  102| C
On a long losing run and hard to catch right, well held at Ffos Las last time. Will find easier openings.

Forecasts

Gemirande (15/8), Aintree My Dream (3/1), Electron Bleu (5/1), Star of Rory (5/1), Samson's Reach (10/1), Mr Mcgo (10/1), Laverteen (25/1)

Verdict

GEMIRANDE was probably fortunate to score at Wetherby but he had better form over fences in France and looks worth chancing on the back of that now handicapping up in trip. Mr Mcgo could be the danger.
