3/1

Back to winning ways at Bangor (19.5f) 13 months ago and went down fighting over extended 18f here thereafter. Shaped as if in need of return at first-named venue recently and better expected now.

Le Ligerien²⁸

Age: 7| Weight: 11-8| J: Ben Jones⁽³⁾| T: P Hobbs & J White| OR: 131| CD

11/2

Raised his game when landing 2m soft-ground handicaps at Newbury and here in January. Solid third on return at Chepstow but let down by his jumping when pulled up back here (18.8f) 4 weeks ago.

Form: 2110-3P

Turning Gold^t³⁴⁰

Age: 6| Weight: 11-5| J: Bryan Carver| T: R Bevis| OR: 128| CD

33/1

Fairly useful handicap hurdler for Nigel Twiston-Davies who disappointed on sole chase try at Doncaster (20.5f) in January. Has since switched yards and the betting may prove a good guide here.

Form: 8P17/3P-

Ebony Jewel¹⁷

Age: 6| Weight: 11-3| J: R Patrick| T: N W Alexander| OR: 126| CD

2/1

Bumper winner who enjoyed a productive first campaign over hurdles, including a C&D novice win 12 months ago. Shaped as if needing return here (18.8f) 17 days ago and she may do better still.

Form: 3312F-4

Thinking^p1,t⁷

Age: 5| Weight: 10-13| J: Jack Tudor| T: D Pipe| OR: 122| D

25/1

Fairly useful form when winning juvenile hurdle at Vichy in 2018. Low-key debut for new yard but more to like about his subsequent Hereford display for all he did curl up close home. Cheekpieces added

Form: 1/P5

Llantara^t²⁷

Age: 9| Weight: 10-0| J: Rex Dingle| T: A Ralph| OR: 108| D

15/2

Multiple hurdles winner for Tom Symonds who shaped much better than distance beaten suggests on return/yard debut at Uttoxeter (15.7f) recently. Should come forward from that but this is tougher.

Form: 1/4026-3

Forecasts

Ebony Jewel (2/1), Chti Balko (3/1), Tegerek (9/2), Le Ligerien (11/2), Llantara (15/2), Thinking (25/1), Turning Gold (33/1)

TEGEREK justified strong support when scoring at Cheltenham on his penultimate start and matched that when a solid third in the Greatwood last time, noted staying on close home. He gets the nod to resume winning ways, though Chti Balko is sure to provide stern resistance with his Bangor return spin under his belt. Ebony Jewel can do best of the remainder.
