£185,000 buy after winning an Irish point in March 2018. Showed plenty on sole completed start last season and while he proved a let-down on return at Chepstow, this 6-y-o still has time on his side.

Stepped up on previous bumper efforts when third at Hereford in October, but beaten a long way on hurdles debut there last month.

Placed on third attempt in bumpers at Hereford in October, but subsequent hurdles debut effort at Taunton wasn't overly inspiring.

Placed a couple of times on the Flat in France, but beaten a long way both starts in this sphere for new yard.

Winning debut in a Fontwell bumper in September. Failed to lay a glove on the first 2 when third starting out over hurdles at Wetherby (2m) last month, but entitled to respect here all the same.

Some appeal pedigree-wise, but beaten a long way in novice hurdles at Hereford and Chepstow.

Encouraging signs when third in bumpers at Ascot and Southwell. Should make a hurdler and may well have a part to play if his jumping passes the test on debut in this sphere.

Bumper debut at Exeter in February certainly wasn't devoid of promise, but recent introduction to hurdles at the same course was rather low-key.

Well beaten in 2 bumpers last season and pulled up when visored for hurdles bow at Huntingdon in March. Headgear discarded on return/debut for new yard.

Showed more spark than on hurdles debut when fifth of 11 on first run for this yard in 16.5f Taunton maiden last month. Still, sizeable step forward needed if she's to trouble the principles here.

6/1
Well-bred filly who confirmed previous bumper promise when off the mark at Sedgefield (16.8f) in March. Makes debut in this sphere at a realistic level and very much one to consider.

Forecasts

Brewers Project (6/5), Steady The Ship (7/2), Masteroftheheights (7/2), Graces Order (6/1), City Flame (28/1), The Denholm Bandit (28/1), Istorius (33/1), Getaway Cory (40/1), Buckskin (66/1), What A Baloo (200/1), No Worries (200/1)

Verdict

The vote goes to MASTEROFTHEHEIGHTS, who was comprehensively outpointed by the front 2 when third on hurdles debut at Wetherby, but there was no disgrace in that and he is a viable proposition given that likely favourite Brewers Project was disappointing on his reappearance. Steady The Ship has shown ability in a couple of bumpers and Graces Order, winner of one in March, are others to consider.

  2. BREWERS PROJECT (IRE)
  3. STEADY THE SHIP (IRE)
