Seasons Greetings From Hexham Bookmakers Mares' Novices' Hurdle (GBB Race)

Off time: 13:26 | Winning time: 4m 32.80s

Charm Offensive³³

Age: 6| Weight: 10-10| J: B S Hughes| T: N W Alexander

11/4

Really strong at the finish when runner-up in Ayr bumper on debut a year ago. Disappointing 2 months later and minor promise only on C&D hurdles bow last month, though form of stable is a plus.

Form: 25-4

Fairfield Ferrata²⁸

Age: 4| Weight: 10-10| J: Joe Colliver| T: Jedd O'Keeffe| D

11/4

Continued theme of race-by-race progress in bumpers when landing 10-runner contest at Ayr a month ago. Sister to a couple of winning hurdlers and she has to be taken seriously.

Form: 2-21

Little Mo²⁸³

Age: 8| Weight: 10-10| J: Ryan Mania| T: A M Thomson

17/2

Dam unraced half-sister to top-class chaser Celestial Gold and high-class hurdler Fiveforthree. Placed first 2 starts in Irish points (pulled up when last seen in March).

Form: 33P-

Lizzie Loch¹⁶

Age: 4| Weight: 10-10| J: Craig Nichol| T: A C Whillans

40/1

Modest winner on the Flat (stays 1¾m) and has failed to complete both starts over hurdles at Musselburgh.

Form: FP

Miss Tara Moss²⁵

Age: 5| Weight: 10-10| J: Ross Turner⁽⁵⁾| T: O Greenall & J Guerriero

18/1

Kayf Tara mare. Half-sister to fair hurdler/fairly useful chaser Midnight Moss. Big price and merely hinted at ability on debut at Uttoxeter.

Form: 7

Not Your Choice²⁸

Age: 4| Weight: 10-10| J: Sean Quinlan| T: C Grant

80/1

Bred to need time and distance, so no great surprise he failed to make an impact in a brace of bumpers this autumn.

Form: 77

Princess Avery⁴⁴⁸

Age: 6| Weight: 10-10| J: Sam Coltherd⁽³⁾| T: S Corbett

66/1

Closely related to bumper winner/fairly useful hurdler Definitelyanoscar, and half-sister to fairly useful hurdler Towering. Maiden Irish pointer and never on terms on hurdles bow in last year.

Form: BP33/5-

That's Your Lottie^h,t1⁹

Age: 5| Weight: 10-10| J: Callum Bewley| T: K Scott

250/1

Beaten a long way in 2 bumpers at the beginning of the year and same story on hurdles debut minus the hood (which is now back on with a tongue tie added).

Form: 58-9

West End Lady³³

Age: 5| Weight: 10-10| J: S Mulqueen⁽³⁾| T: Miss Lucinda V Russell

11/8

Westerner half-sister to fair hurdler/chaser Oscar Nomination. Pulled up sole start in an Irish point a year ago but much more like it when third in a heavy-ground novice over C&D a month ago.

Form: P-3

Non-Runners

Still A Spark³¹¹

Weight: 10-10| Age: 5

T: J Walton J: Non Runner

Forecasts

West End Lady (11/8), Fairfield Ferrata (11/4), Charm Offensive (11/4), Little Mo (17/2), Miss Tara Moss (18/1), Lizzie Loch (40/1), Princess Avery (66/1), Not Your Choice (80/1), That's Your Lottie (250/1)

WEST END LADY stuck to her task really well against a couple of established rivals when third in the mud on Rules debut over C&D a month ago and a repeat of that form may well suffice. In a race lacking depth, bumper-winner Fairfield Ferrata is the obvious threat.
