Very much going the right way over fences, and impressively made all in 20f Newbury handicap last month, jumping well. Up 6 lb but another bold showing is on the cards.

Fairly useful hurdler who returned with fine third in 19.5f Silver Trophy at Chepstow before non-staying 7th in 3m Cheltenham handicap. This is a tough first ask over fences but still much respected.

Useful and consistent hurdler for Willie Mullins. 50/1 and tenderly handled on yard/chasing debut when fifth of 7 in Uttoxeter novice on return. Capable of better so no forlorn hope.

Looked fairly useful novice hurdler last term, winning both completed starts, but very disappointing on Wetherby return and fell second at Wincanton last time. Goes chasing now with bit to prove.

Ex-French recruit who (7/2) returned vastly improved after wind op when easy 7l winner of 2m handicap at Wetherby on chasing bow. Had plenty in the tank there so hard to beat under a 7 lb penalty.

Forecasts

Funambule Sivola (7/2), Morning Vicar (5/1), Alnadam (11/2), Before Midnight (15/2), Mister Murchan (15/2), Flinck (8/1), Killer Clown (17/2), Top Man (9/1), Ballinslea Bridge (28/1), Do Wanna Know (40/1), Quartz Du Rheu (66/1)

Verdict

Some interesting young chasers line up here but it's impossible to oppose FUNAMBULE SIVOLA who really took off on his chasing bow when a most impressive winner at Wetherby and should prove hard to beat under a 7 lb penalty. Morning Vicar is another chaser with a lot of better days ahead of him so is fancied to chase home Venetia Williams' improver, with Alnadam and Top Man much respected too.

  1. FUNAMBULE SIVOLA (FR)
  2. MORNING VICAR (IRE)
  3. ALNADAM (FR)
