Fairly useful bumper winner who got off the mark on equally bad ground in a 2m maiden hurdle here last month, forging ahead final 100 yds. Longer trip rates a plus and there's more to come.

Landed a Market Rasen novice (16.5f) in March and returned with a good second at Fontwell in October. Subsequent Ascot effort was underwhelming but certainly not ruled out if bouncing back.

Hinted at ability in pair of bumpers and similarly showed a bit when plugging on for fourth on Carlisle hurdles bow (17f) last month. Feasible to think he will improve on that.

From a good jumping family and he surpassed his bumper form at first attempt over hurdles with a promising second at Exeter (18.5f) in February. Too free on return and no surprise to see better here.

Left his previous hurdles exploits in his wake when twice successful over fences at up to 21f last season. Below form final start but he may yet get back on the up over hurdles, possibly in handicaps.

€25,000 3-y-o: half-brother to fairly useful hurdler Definite Plan (19f winner). Maiden Irish pointer, pulled up last time (Mar 7). Likely best watched on hurdles bow unless market indicates otherwise

Last on her only start in bumpers back in January and similarly offered little either start over hurdles in recent weeks.

Forecasts

Castle Rushen (8/13), Fearless (7/2), Lamanver Storm (6/1), Manetti (11/1), Get With It (18/1), To The Limit (200/1), Orlas' Abbey (400/1)

Verdict

A fairly useful bumper winner, CASTLE RUSHEN did well to overcome the steady pace when adding to his tally on hurdles debut over 2m here last month. He's open to progress in this sphere and gets the nod to defy a penalty again partnered by Brian Hughes. Fearless is better than he showed last time and is feared, along with Lamanver Storm.

  1. CASTLE RUSHEN (IRE)
  2. FEARLESS (IRE)
  3. LAMANVER STORM
