Bristol De Mai²⁵³

Age: 9| Weight: 11-7| J: D A Jacob| T: N & W Twiston-Davies| OR: 169| CD

9/4

Fine record at Haydock Park, dominating proceedings when winning this in 2017 and 2018 and running an admirable race behind Lostintranslation 12 months ago. Bold bid expected on return.

Form: F34/229-

Clan Des Obeaux²⁵³

Age: 8| Weight: 11-7| J: Sam Twiston-Davies| T: P F Nicholls| OR: 171| CWS

9/4

Dual King George winner who disappointed again in the Gold Cup when last seen but that wasn't his running and he ran a blinder on his return last year, so expect a big performance. Has had a wind op.

Form: 152/218-

Keeper Hill²¹

Age: 9| Weight: 11-7| J: Jonjo O'Neill Jr.| T: W Greatrex| OR: 150| C

28/1

Back on track in second season over fences last term, winning the graduation chase at this meeting on reappearance. Never really in the hunt in the Charlie Hall on return though, and stiff task here.

Form: 3/1P23-4

Lostintranslation^t²⁵³

Age: 8| Weight: 11-7| J: R M Power| T: C L Tizzard| OR: 171| CD

7/4

Took his place at the top table with victory in this last year and left behind his King George flop after a wind op (tongue tied) with a cracking third in the Cheltenham Gold Cup. The one to beat.

Form: 21/11P3-

Forecasts

Lostintranslation (7/4), Bristol De Mai (9/4), Clan Des Obeaux (9/4), Bellshill (16/1), Keeper Hill (28/1)

A mighty renewal of this great Grade 1 and LOSTINTRANSLATION is a strong fancy to make a successful return and land the race for the second year running. He saw off the 2017 and 2018-winner Bristol de Mai with a fantastic round of jumping 12 months ago and ran just as well in defeat in the Gold Cup when last seen. Dual King George-winner Clan des Obeaux is a big danger.
