Improved when winning 3 on the bounce over hurdles last winter. Promising start over fences when 7½ lengths third to Demachine on return at Uttoxeter (22.5f) and now 9 lb better off with that rival.

Improved with each of his 4 starts over hurdles last term and looked good when landing an 18-runner handicap chase on debut in this sphere at Uttoxeter (22.5f). Up 10 lb but should have more to offer.

Dual hurdles winner in Ireland, but hasn't looked a natural over fences (0-7 in this sphere), for all that he wasn't disgraced on recent return/debut for this yard at Sandown.

Successful pointer who made good progress over hurdles last term, scoring at Plumpton and Sandown before a fine effort in a valuable handicap at the latter course in February. Looks a chasing type.

Failed to build on success in Lingfield novice hurdle last term, but back on track when a close second to Gleneo (winner again since) starting out over fences there in October. Open to improvement.

£100,000 Irish point winner who bolted up in 2¾m Stratford novice hurdle in April 2019. First run since when seventh on chase debut in Ascot handicap won by Demachine and should come on for that.

Improved when off the mark in a handicap chase at Hereford (25.2f) in March, but Market Rasen reappearance display was tame. Now tried in cheekpieces.

Forecasts

Demachine (11/4), Young Bull (3/1), Highland Hunter (7/2), Hold That Taught (4/1), Minella Bobo (11/2), Go Whatever (7/1), Salty Boy (12/1), Ivilnoble (28/1)

Verdict

DEMACHINE will need to progress again in order to defy a 10 lb rise for last month's Uttoxeter chase debut success, but it was a taking performance and one which suggested that this lightly-raced 6-y-o can go on to better things. Young Bull and Minella Bobo, third and seventh respectively in that Uttoxeter handicap, are both open to improvement, too, but Hold That Taught rates the main danger.

  1. DEMACHINE (IRE)
  2. HOLD THAT TAUGHT
  3. YOUNG BULL (IRE)
