Get Your Heart Racing This Christmas Maiden Hurdle (GBB Race)

Off time: 15:25 | Winning time: 5m 18.50s

Champagne Rhythm¹²

Age: 5| Weight: 11-0| J: Isabel Williams⁽⁵⁾| T: Evan Williams

11/4

Promise in bumpers and pleasing start over hurdles when runner-up in a novice at Ffos Las recently, beaten only by a well-above-average type. One to consider with improvement on the cards.

Form: 252

Champagnesuperover²²

Age: 5| Weight: 11-0| J: P J Brennan| T: O Murphy| BF

8/13

Useful bumper winner who travelled best when second to When You're Ready (encouraging third in a handicap off 118 next time) in a novice at Stratford. More to come, so obvious claims.

Form: 13-2

Franco D'Aunou¹⁸

Age: 5| Weight: 11-0| J: Hugh Nugent⁽⁵⁾| T: Miss V Williams| OR: 125

4/1

French recruit who travelled well for a long way when fourth in a novice at Hereford on British debut. Likely to strip fitter for that, so looks a player.

Form: 2-4

Rocheston²⁷

Age: 5| Weight: 11-0| J: Lorcan Williams⁽³⁾| T: P F Nicholls

12/1

Promising third at Bordeaux in September 2018 on sole outing for Guillaume Macaire but, after an absence of almost 2 years subsequently, disappointed in a novice at Kelso for new yard. Bit to prove.

Form: 3/7

The Big Sting²¹

Age: 5| Weight: 11-0| J: M G Nolan| T: H Fry

25/1

Scopey son of Scorpion who ran to a fair level in a brace of Exeter bumpers last season but quiet start to his hurdling career at Uttoxeter 21 days ago. Perhaps more of a handicap type.

Form: 47-7

Well Finn²⁴

Age: 5| Weight: 11-0| J: David England| T: R Potter

150/1

Pulled up only start in points and failed to beat a rival over C&D on hurdling bow.

Form: P-0

Arvico La Angel¹¹

Age: 4| Weight: 10-7| J: Alan Johns| T: Tim Vaughan

150/1

Huge price before swerving and unseating at this course on debut. Unlikely to feature.

Form: U

Wise Garden¹⁸

Age: 5| Weight: 10-7| J: David Noonan| T: N J Hawke

200/1

No sign of ability in a bumper/novice hurdle.

Form: 69

Forecasts

Champagnesuperover (8/13), Champagne Rhythm (11/4), Franco D'Aunou (4/1), Rocheston (12/1), The Big Sting (25/1), Arvico La Angel (150/1), Well Finn (150/1), Wise Garden (200/1)

CHAMPAGNESUPEROVER looked talented in bumpers and, although beaten at odds on, didn't do much wrong at Stratford on hurdling bow. He's taken to go one better in comfortable fashion despite the presence of Champagne Rhythm and Franco d'Aunou, who also have potential.
